Recycled polyester swimwear
Our swimwear is made from Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified recycled polyester, which means the fabric comes from verified recycled materials, like post- consumer plastic waste. GRS certification also makes sure the recycled material is tracked responsibly from start to finish, and that factories follow safer environmental and social practices. When you buy our recycled swimwear, you’re choosing products that are; made from real, certified recycled materials that help reduce waste and protect our oceans, are produced with lower environmental impact, and come from environments that support fair and safe working conditions. As with all synthetic materials, our recycled polyester swimwear can release microplastics during washing, so we always recommend using a guppy bag.
UPF50+ sun protection swimwear
UPF50+ sun protection is the highest rating available when it comes to UV protection in swim fabrics. All of our MARSIE swim has UPF50+ sun protection which blocks over 97.5% of harmful UVA and UVB rays, allowing for less than 2% of UV radiation to reach our little ones skin. The protection in UPF swimwear comes from tightly woven or fabrics that are specially engineered rather than chemical treatments, which essentially means it won't 'wash out' of the togs or fade, meaning your little ones will always be protected under their swimwear.
ECONYL® regenerated nylon
ECONYL® is a brand of 100% regenerated nylon fiber which is created from waste materials such as fishing nets, fabric scarps and industrial plastic. It is the sustainable alternatvie to using virgin nylon in the fashion industry. This material reduces the global warming impact by up to 90% compared to oil-based nylon as it reduces the relaice on petroleum and diverts waste from landfills and oceans. As with all synthetic materials, our ECONYL® regenerated nylon can release microplastics during washing, so we always recommend using a guppy bag.
